The Best of Athens Walking Tour - With a Guide

Your guide will meet you at a centrally located hotel in order to take you on foot to visit many of the main sites of Athens, including inside the the Acropolis. Your personal guide will answer questions as he leads you through the sites of modern and ancient Athens. Walk to Syntagma Metro station; discover the artefacts dug up during the stations excavations. Continue on to the impressive Parliament building to view the “Evzones” bodyguards of the president in their impressive national costume. Walk through the National Garden, stopping at the Zappeion, an important part of Olympic Games history. Continue passed the Panatheniac stadium, built of marble, where the 1896 Olympic Games were held on the way to visit the beautiful classical temple of Olympian Zeus. Your guide will provide a detailed explanation of the colossal ruined temple found in the centre of the Greek capital. Afterwards pass Hadrian’s Arch on your walk to Plaka with two most important cathedrals of Athens. Museum Extension

Go inside the Acropolis museum, which houses nearly 4,000 objects are exhibited over an area of 14,000 square metres. The museum is located by the southeastern slope of the Acropolis hill, on the ancient road that led up to the “sacred rock” in classical times. Walking Tour of Fira Town

Depart in the morning at 10am for a walking orientation tour of Fira that will start in front of the centrally located Atlantis Hotel. Conducted by our local representative who will give you tips on how to best utilise your time on the island. Wander through the white cobbled streets of Fira, a town of about 2000 inhabitants, where you’ll feel the old-world charm blended in with modern day comforts. Visit Gold Street where you can find the most interesting and beautiful jewellery. Walk a short section of the famous Santorini donkey roads, which were frequently used by the locals to carry their goods. Afterwards relax at Assyrtico wine restaurant located on the first floor of the mansion in the heart of the Caldera in Fira. Walking Tour of Mykonos Town

This special exclusive to us small group walking tour starts near Manto Statue on the main Square of Mykonos town either at 4pm for an afternoon tour of 10am on Wednesdays morning. It is a great tour for first time visitors to the island as our local representative will help participants to unravel the secret of Mykonos, normally known to the locals only. Explore the labyrinth of Mykonos port town and this time you will not get lost amongst the narrow streets. Admire the famous Windmills, stop for photos at Little Venice where tourist and locals come usually at sunset to enjoy cocktail. Stop at Paraportiani church and continue through the small fishermen port with the church of Saint Nikolas, and “Yialos” area with all café and restaurants are. Our local representatives will inform you about the buses, taxis, beaches you may wish to explore during your stay and can recommend great places to eat and drink. This orientation walk will finish in the local “ouzeri” called Enplo, where you can sample local ouzo or raki -traditional Greek aperitifs accompanied with a small “meze” plate. For non alcohol drinkers soft drink will be provided. After completion of the walk which will last two to three hours we recommend that you remain in town and try one of the traditional restaurants for dinner. Rhodes Walking Tour

At 10am join a morning 2 to 3 hour orientation walk of Rhodes town. This walk starts at the lobby of hotel Mediterranean; walk towards to old town passing by the Casino of Rhodes, the Turkish cemetery and the Mandraki port before entering the medieval city of Rhodes through the moat (Tafro). Continue stroll along the Knights’ Street, a cobble stone street lined with the “Inns”, 15th and 16th century buildings, where the knights have lived divided according to their nationalities. Travel back in time and experience the medieval character of the beautiful old town, declared a World Heritage site. To complete the day, enjoy sweets and coffee tasting in a traditional Kafeneio of the old town. Rest of the day free to explore Old town, the Palace of the Grand Masters or for shopping at the bazaar at Socrates Street.
